This should happen within 5 business days of receipt of application.If the student has not received their email and it has been more than 5 days, refer the student to Admissions Office.

Thank you for your application to San José State University! This email contains your SJSU student ID and all the information you need to activate your SJSU One account. Our SJSUOne app portal is your gateway to MySJSU - your online student center moving forward.

MySJSU is where we will post updates to your application and admission status as well as the primary source of information for class schedules, fees and tuition, and messages about your academic record. It is your responsibility to check your MySJSU account frequently for changes to your status and time-sensitive messages regarding deadlines. We encourage you to follow the instructions below to set up your account within the next 72 hours.

The following nine-digit number is your SJSU ID and will be used to sign in to SJSUOne (https://one.sjsu.edu) to access your MySJSU account:

Please follow these instructions at https://www.sjsu.edu/it/support/first-time-user.php  to create the password for your SJSUOne account:

1. Create a password to access your SJSUOne account

2. Set up two-factor authentication (DUO)

3. Sign in to SJSUOne at https://one.sjsu.edu ---> Access MySJSU by searching for 'MySJSU' in the search box

Important!

Once you are in your MySJSU Student Center, verify and update all of your personal information under the 'Personal Information' section.

Make any necessary changes to your mailing address, phone number, and email address. Your preferred email address is especially important since SJSU sends update notifications by email when new messages are posted to your MySJSU account.

*Remember that you will use MySJSU for all services (e.g. financial aid status and registration) and you will access your MySJSU account through SJSUOne (https://one.sjsu.edu).

Lost SJSUOne ID or password?

For 'Password Help' follow the instructions at https://www.sjsu.edu/it/services/support/password-help.php to reset your password.

Once you set your password and activate Duo, you will not need to change your password for two years!

🔍 How to Look up ID Number for Students, Faculty, and Staff? (Customer Walk-Through)

  1. Direct customer to 'ID Look Up' option (sjsuone.sjsu.edu/idlookup)

    1. From https://one.sjsu.edu/ , enter "SJSU ID lookup" in the search bar and click on the tile

  2. Fill out the requested information:

  3. Once the information has been entered. The ID number will show up in RED. If the field displays SJSU ID doesn’t exist either the information inputted was incorrect or the account has not yet been created. In this case please wait 48 hours before trying again.
    A result shows up if all 3 pieces of information are on file and are correct.
