Telepresence & Lecture Capture

  • How do I access my telepresence meeting?
    • On Campus
      • To call a person within the campus, just dial their four digit extension(example: 4-2867).
    • Off Campus
      • Video Conferencing with someone off campus will require scheduling through

Smart Scheduler. Instructions can be found here

      • If you scheduled your meeting through Smart Scheduler, you will receive an email from the system with the call details. You will need to forward this email to your remote users so that they can join the meeting via WebEx.
      • To access the meeting, click on the "Call icon on the iPad, and dial the bridge number. You only need to dial the four digit number below the term H.323. There is no need to type "@sjsu.edu"
  • What do I do if the system is not connecting to the recording function?
    • Restart the system:
      • Power down the controller (iPad), by pushing the power icon in the top left of the iPad. This automatically shuts down the Next Generation Classroom. The camera and the main screen will return to the “powered off” positions.
      • To turn on the classroom, on the iPad, turn on the “vControl Touch” App.
  • What do I do if a telepresence call drops?
  • Why can’t my guest lecture see or hear us in the classroom?
  • Why can’t I see my guest lecturer with WebEx and Telepresence?
    • If you are calling someone on campus, they must have a video enabled phone.
    • If you have booked a meeting with Smart Scheduler, you must call the bridge to dial into your virtual meeting. Otherwise, you won't be able to see the remote participants.
  • How do you remove the small video window from screen?
  • What do I do if the camera is stuck?
    • The camera can be moved by selecting the desired camera input in the presentation mode.
    • If this still does not move the camera, restart the system using the instructions above.
