If a student emails requesting to withdraw their admission application, we would change their intent to no, extend their deadline, and make notes on NS Forms layout. (Note: The request must come from the student. Not the parent.)

In SQL - Search for SJSU ID and term (or verify you have to correct term to update) If the student is GRAD, forward email to grad-admissions@sjsu.edu

  1. Intent to Enroll field - use the drop-down menu to choose No.

  2. Session field - delete session (if in a session)

    1. Click on session to get drop-down menu

    2. Choose other

    3. Delete data

  3. OriConfirmation - delete confirmation number (if in a session)

Then save

In FM - Nextsteps

  1. UpdateAction field - choose Change Intent to No from drop-down menu. This will automatically create a note in the General Notes field

Then save

***If the student wasn’t enrolled in an orientation session then remove that verbiage from the email to to the student

Email student back:

Example:

Hello, 

Thank you for letting us know. I changed your intent to enroll to no and removed you from the orientation session. Your admission application will be withdrawn in the next couple of weeks.

If you applied for Housing, or Financial Aid make sure to let them know as well.

Thank you for considering SJSU and we wish you well in your future endeavors!
