How to Change NextSteps Intent to Enroll to 'No'
If a student emails requesting to withdraw their admission application, we would change their intent to no, extend their deadline, and make notes on NS Forms layout. (Note: The request must come from the student. Not the parent.)
In SQL - Search for SJSU ID and term (or verify you have to correct term to update) If the student is GRAD, forward email to grad-admissions@sjsu.edu
Intent to Enroll field - use the drop-down menu to choose No.
Session field - delete session (if in a session)
Click on session to get drop-down menu
Choose other
Delete data
OriConfirmation - delete confirmation number (if in a session)
Then save
In FM - Nextsteps
NOTE: If the orientation session has passed, change intent to enroll to no but leave them in the orientation session. Do not delete orientation data.
UpdateAction field - choose Change Intent to No from drop-down menu. This will automatically create a note in the General Notes field
Then save
***If the student wasn’t enrolled in an orientation session then remove that verbiage from the email to to the student
***If we change an intent to no after the orientation session, remove the verbiage in the General Notes section that says "removed from session.”
Email student back:
Example:
Hello,
Thank you for letting us know. I changed your intent to enroll to no and removed you from the orientation session. Your admission application will be withdrawn in the next couple of weeks.
If you applied for Housing, or Financial Aid make sure to let them know as well.
Thank you for considering SJSU and we wish you well in your future endeavors!
Best,
Jillana
