(info) What is DUO?

DUO is the a phase 2 authentication method used at the school by all staff that require it i.e. those that handle sensitive information, along with any other student or employee who may opt for 2FA. If a user has DUO on their account, DUO will prompt for a pass code or a push approval once the user has successfully entered for students, staff, employees, and alumni (up to 1 year after graduation). It prompts users to enter a pass code or approve a push notification after entering their SJSUOne login information.

👤 Who can get DUO?

  • All employees must have DUO, this includes (including student employees, staff, and faculty.)

  • All active students and applicants must also have DUO.

Steps to Verify Identity

  1. Verify Customer identity using CSU ID search- dd/mm +last 4 of SSN

  2. Check their phone’s compatibility

    1. If device is compatible check DUO Admin to see if there is a phone listed but not added correctly > Remove phone > Help them add it again

    2. If device not among compatible devices >Start a FOB request for them
